General Competition Terms
By entering this competition, you agree to be bound by these rules. We may change these terms at any time by updating this page, and these changes are binding on you.
Eligibility & Entry
This competition is only open to businesses located in the following counties, Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Somerset, Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, Bristol. We reserve the right to reject any entry at our discretion. To enter, you must pay a non-refundable fee of £15.00 per category. You can enter multiple categories, but each requires a separate payment. There is no cooling-off period for this fee.
Categories
Day Spa of the Year: Entrants must offer a range of spa services, including multiple treatment rooms, relaxation areas, and wet facilities such as a sauna, steam room, and/or pool.
Complementary Therapist of the Year: Entrants must demonstrate expertise in a specific complementary therapy, such as aromatherapy, reflexology, or reiki, and provide evidence of client success and positive outcomes.
Beauty Therapist of the Year: Entrants must be a qualified and practicing beauty therapist offering a range of treatments like facials, manicures, waxing, or makeup application, with a focus on skill, client care, and professional development.
Tutor/Trainer of the Year: Entrants should be a qualified educator who provides training in wellness, beauty, or complementary therapies. They must submit a portfolio that showcases their curriculum design, student testimonials, and successful outcomes for their graduates.
Training Centre of Distinction: This category is for a school or centre that provides exceptional education in wellness or beauty. Applicants should highlight their accreditations, course offerings, facilities, and the professional success of their students.
Client Experience: This award focuses on the quality of a business's service. Submissions should include evidence of a consistently high-quality client journey, such as excellent customer service, personalised consultations, and a comfortable, welcoming environment.
Rising Star of the Year: This award recognises a newcomer to the industry who shows exceptional promise. Entrants should be in the industry for less than two years and demonstrate a strong commitment to their craft, rapid business growth, and positive client feedback.
New Business of the Year: Entrants must be a new business (trading for less than two years) that has shown significant growth, innovation, and a strong market presence in the wellness or beauty industry.
Yoga Practitioner of the Year: Applicants should be a qualified yoga teacher who offers a range of classes and workshops. They must provide evidence of their teaching philosophy, class schedules, and community impact.
Retreat of the Year: This category is for a business that provides an outstanding retreat experience. Submissions should detail the retreat's itinerary, location, unique offerings (e.g., specific workshops or activities), and testimonials from past attendees.
Entrepreneur of the Year: This award recognises an individual who has demonstrated exceptional business acumen and leadership. Entrants should highlight their business growth, innovation, impact on the industry, and leadership style.
Massage Therapist of the Year: Entrants must be a qualified massage therapist who offers a variety of massage modalities. Submissions should include client testimonials, a list of their specialisations (e.g. deep tissue, hot stone, sports massage), and their approach to client consultation and treatment.
Finalist Selection

You must score a minimum of 65 out of 100 points on the scoring system to be a finalist; however, meeting this requirement does not guarantee you will be shortlisted.

If you are selected as a finalist, you will be contacted and listed on our website and social media pages. You will also receive a digital finalist badge to promote your success. Please note, the entry fee is non-refundable regardless of whether you are shortlisted as a finalist.

Upgrade Options
Finalists are not required to purchase an upgrade package. However, optional packages will be available to purchase, which may include items like a trophy. Any items you purchase will be sent to you within 6 weeks after the online awards ceremony.
Supporting Evidence & Judging
You must submit your supporting evidence by the stated deadline to be considered for a gold, silver, or bronze award.
A link to the form will be sent to the email address you provided, and it is your responsibility to check your inbox, including spam and junk folders.
No extensions will be granted. If you fail to submit your evidence on time, you will remain an entrant but will not be eligible for a winning award.
Purchasing an upgrade package does not guarantee a win. If you upgrade early and fail to submit your evidence, you will remain an entrant, be ineligible for judging, and will not receive a refund. If you upgrade early but do not make it as a finalist you will not receive the upgraded items and will not receive a refund.

Judging Integrity
The judges may request additional information to verify claims in your evidence. You must provide this within 7 working days. Failure to do so may result in your disqualification, withdrawal of your finalist or winner status, or a lower award ranking. No refunds will be given in these situations. All judging decisions are final.
Winners & Awards
Winners in each category and of each level bronze, silver or gold will receive a digital winner’s badge to showcase their achievement. Certificates and trophies are not included in the entry fee. You can purchase one of the packages for additional items to showcase your win. We advise not to upgrade until you are notified of your winning status.
No Refunds
All entry fees and upgrade package payments are non-refundable. If you withdraw or are disqualified for any reason, including missing deadlines, or not receiving a finalist status, your payment will not be returned.
Conduct & Results
All decisions made by the judges are final. Any abusive or disrespectful behaviour towards staff, judges, or other participants will result in immediate disqualification and a permanent ban from future competitions.
Your Responsibilities
We are not responsible for lost, late, or incomplete entries. It is your responsibility to ensure your entry and supporting documents are submitted by the deadlines.
Data Protection
Your personal data will be used solely for the competition and handled in accordance with UK data protection laws. We will not share your data with third parties without your consent.
Intellectual Property
All competition intellectual property, including badges and branding, remains our property. You may not use these materials for commercial purposes without our permission. Unauthorised use may lead to disqualification or legal action.
By entering, you give us permission to use your business name, photos, and supporting materials for marketing purposes. You are responsible for getting consent from any client or staff members featured in the images you provide.
Complaints
Any complaints must be emailed to southwestwellnessawards@gmail.com Complaints will be reviewed but will not affect judging decisions or competition outcomes.
Trophy Engraving
We will engrave trophies with the most important information, but due to space constraints, we may not be able to include all details. No refunds or replacements will be issued if you are unhappy with the layout, font, or abbreviation of your name. Refunds are only considered for factual errors, such as an incorrect name or title.
General Terms
These terms are governed by UK law. By entering, you accept full responsibility for adhering to all rules. We may amend these terms at any time without notice. Your continued participation after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
